Neutral or Bold?

In my little world of vintage fashion I have two ways of looking at things....neutral or bold. I see a very neutral color such as this mini scooter dress and think "I want to dress this baby up with some color!" A vintage silk bouquet scarf....a belt....just something to make it my own. Are you more drawn towards bold colors or neutral? As you can see at nodtomod vintage....color always wins!

My New Obsession

Ovbiously I LOVE vintage. Its one of a kind and really.....a treasure. There is a little vintage shop on etsy called Lola Vintage. It was soooo hard for me to pick just a few things that I love from that shop as I adore all the garments she has to offer! Shes a super nice gal with fabulous vintage taste. Nautical

I dont know what it is about the nautical sailor look but I LOVE it! I have always been a fan of a cute striped boat neck top and well fitted shorts. Flats....anchors.....gold.....navy blue..... red and white. Love it! Not sure if its a trend that will stick around forever but I sure hope it does. My obsession with this could have to do with the fact that I was on a boat all weekend! What is your fav trend so far?

Lovin' Cathy Voyage

-$5?: Stuff from the charity shop I visit in my lunch break once a week

-What trend are you so over? Leggings and oversized shirts

-What trend are you hoping will catch on? Parasols!

-Favorite fashion decade? That's hard to say...maybe the 50's?

-Worst fashion decade? The 90's!

-Favorite fashion movie? I like the clothes in movies like "Atonement" and "Elizabeth"!

-If you had a choice of all the designers in the world, who would you work for? Puh...Tom Ford, but he's not working anymore, so maybe Vivienne Westwood!

Busy in NC

I am wayy excited about this! In the third grade, my parents moved us from Miami Beach FL to Asheville NC. Talk about a huge change. Not only the climate...but the people were actually nice in North Carolina! Go figure, I know! Needless to say, all of my closest friends live there still. In two weeks Im going to visit them. Its been about 5 years since I have seen them last and things are pretty much the same between us. Another plus to this trip? The thrift stores are amazing! Little hole in the wall places that have yet to be conquered by the masses. I cant wait to browse the racks! From coats to mini dresses....skirts to peep blouses....vintage pumps to glorious bags. Too exciting! Of course once Im back I will be showing them off....wouldnt you?! What is your favorite place to thrift?

Bombshells & Pin Ups

I am totally in LOVE with these bathing suits! They are sooo far from the norm of what girls wear today. They arent mini string bikinis....(im guilty too). They do leave more to the imagination. I showed my BF these shots the other day. Lets just say.....they didnt show enough skin for him! He is a guy. I get it. These 1970s suits show every curve......in the sexy way. There is one up in our shop now...the rest will be up tomorrow! Hope all had a fabulous 4th!

Bargain Basement

I have decided to part with some of my favorite items in my shop. Thus.....pricing a huge section for only $10.00 each. Shoes....bags.....minis.......maxis....tops...you name it...its there. Hope everyone is having a fab July! Doesnt it seem summer is close to over already?!
